“So, you think you’ve got it right, huh?” Monokuma smirks as the voting results are displayed on a screen above their podium. 2 votes for Byakuya, 2 votes for Me and… 5 votes for Sayaka.
“Upupupupu~! Looks like Sayaka is our lucky winner in the category of most likely to die. But, I would like to show everyone something first. You see, when I said I had no clue who did it… I was obviously lying! Upupupupu~! I know exactly who ended Makoto Naegi’s life and my helper in the AV Room has been tirelessly working to make a short video presentation about it! Please enjoy it to your heart’s content!”
A countdown to the beginning of a film appears on the screen.
[Film Title: Murder of Makoto Naegi]
The screen shows Makoto’s welcome speech in the Cafeteria at the start of the night. The room is crowded, and everyone is bumping into each other. A darkened, faceless figure reaches into Twogami’s pocket and pulls out their ballpoint pen, while someone else elbows them by accident.
“Here, the culprit acquired the murder weapon. But you’ve guessed this one already, right?”
Next, the figure is shown walking up the stairs and entering the Chem Lab. They scour the shelves until they find what they are looking for; a Bunsen burner with a clock device on it. They head downstairs and pass by Hinata and Chiaki on the third floor.
They are shown in the Art Room, writing two letters, signed by Sayaka and Makoto respectively, using the same ballpoint pen that was used in the murder. They set up a pile of paper in the corner of the Art Storage, place the burner next to it and set the time on the clock to A5.
“And this is how they set up the distraction. You also managed to get this one right.”
They walk upstairs, in front of the Music Room, where they drop one of the letters. Faint sobbing can be heard in the background. The figure slips downstairs, where they meet Makoto coming out of the Auditorium and stop to talk to them. The camera shows Shoji in the background.
When Shoji leaves to go to the bathroom, the figure invites Makoto to join them for a private chat. The victim is led to the Headmaster’s Office. The culprit closes the door, sprays paint on Makoto’s eyes and then stabs them in their left eye as they lose their balance and fall on the desk.
“That’s how it went. Pretty simple, now that it’s out there?”
They drop the other letter at Makoto’s feet before the fire alarm sounds. They rush downstairs, avoiding Sayaka happily wandering into the room, and enter the burning scene of the Art Room, which Gundham is putting out with an extinguisher.
“Can we just show their face already? We all know who it is.”
The camera shifts to everyone else rushing into the Art Room’s doorway. When it shifts back into the room, you can see Gundham holding a fire extinguisher and…
Byakuya Togami, the Affluent Prodigy.
[[The End.]]

Byakuya Togami, the Affluent Prodigy.
[[The End.]]
“So, that’s how it is. Byakuya Togami killed Makoto Naegi in cold blood. Although the murder itself was simple, you all fell victim to his calculated manipulation and turned against one another. I got to give it to you, Togami-kun; I don’t know if I would be able to frame three people for the murder, let alone indicate myself as one among them.” Monokuma gives a small applause.
“Yup, it was all him. From setting up multiple people as suspects, including himself, by making sure that he was the last person seen with the victim, to creating the red herring of the love letters and planning the fire as a distraction. It was a risky plan that couldn’t have been done without everyone’s help! There were multiple clues to his guilt, including being seen near each and every scene related to the murder in the exact order the murder plan was assumed to have taken place.”
“But one clue was left unsaid. The order of arrivals at the scene of the fire. Don’t you think something is odd about it? How’d Byakuya end up there before Shoji, Ibuki and Twogami if he was at the AV Room when the alarm rang as he previously claimed?”
Monokuma pauses for a second. They’re getting off the track here.
“Ehem, Byakuya is the winner so he gets to leave the game. I’ll miss him, though. Since Sayaka was voted as the sacrifice, she’ll have to be executed to atone for everyone’s failure!”
Monokuma snaps their fingers and Sayaka’s hands and feet are locked into her podium. The podium opens up and forms a dartboard into which she is tied into. A cage appears around the center of the trial room, separating Sayaka and preventing the others from interfering.
[[Execution: Cupid’s Torment]]
The screen lights up. It’s Naegi. It appears to be a video filmed with a small camera some time ago. After a bit of silence, Makoto starts talking about how he really feels about Sayaka. He confesses that he’s had feelings for her since they were in high school, but that he doesn’t know how to go about telling her about them. So he’s decided to film it and ask her to watch it after the reunion. He talks about all the things he likes about Sayaka and that he hopes she feels the same way.
When the screen turns black, Sayaka’s eyes are full of tears of joy. No matter what happens next, she can at least die knowing Naegi loved her… and that they’ll meet each other in Heaven.
Monokuma seems to pick up on this. This is an execution. There’s no happy ending here. Only heartbreak. At his command, the ground opens up and robots dressed up as Naegi arise. They are holding bows in their hands, loaded with arrows with heart-shaped tips.
Sayaka’s expression turns into that of terror as the first shot is fastened and strikes just next to her head. It’s a miss. The death squad of Robo-Naegi’s take turns, hitting her body over and over again until she is pierced by at least a dozen arrows. But she still breathes, the face of her beloved distorting to the face of her death. The final archer takes their stance and…
The last arrow pierces her heart. Sayaka’s face tenses from the agony for a second before her head tilts down. Monokuma declares it a ‘BULLSEYE!!!’ before the robots retreat and the cage is lifted. Sayaka is left hanging lifeless on the human dartboard at the center of the room.

Monokuma claps their hands together again after the gruesome scene and looks at everyone.
“You all lost too, so you’ll get to stay here with me. I was hoping for this kind of ending, actually. I couldn’t bear to call it quits after just one round, right? No, that wouldn’t be right… So, let’s continue the game! I wonder who’s going to die next? You can’t wait either, can you?”
